My approach to leading teams and building successful human-centered products comes down to three principles:
Build trustful relationships through active listening and respectful communication
Cultivate growth mindset through curiosity, self-awareness and feedback
Delivery quality through collaboration and data-driven decision making
I have worked in both start-up environments where I was the only UX practitioner taking products from 0-1, to where I was leading UX for products for businesses that had highly-mature design organizations. I have grown and managed cross-functional UX teams between 5-10 practitioners at a time (designers, researchers, content strategists, technologists). I evangelize UX by building trust in 1:1 relationships as well speaking to large-scale audiences about the foundations, values, and tangible wins and competitive advantages of human-centered iterative product development.
I have practiced product design as a consultant and as an in-house designer for over 12 years across the healthcare, education, nonprofit, and finance industries. I’ve spent the last 5+ years developing oncology-related digital products, specializing in clinical trials. My management style can be described as down-to-earth, transparent, and growth-focused. I help my team identify their strengths and opportunities for growth, and I coach each individual in creating a personalized plan to enable their career development.
I currently live in Brooklyn, NY. Aside from focusing on UX and clinical trial product development, I enjoy scuba diving, electronica music production, and tasting my way through the ever-evolving Brooklyn restaurant scene.
